How to develop intuition: 8 ways to hear and understand their true desires
There have been many situations in my life where my intuition has really saved me. So an article on how to develop intuition, I think should definitely be part of this blog.
My intuition once pointed me to a case that would be mine for life; it helped me to give up “not my” profession, expressing it by sabotage and complete inner denial.
It helped me to leave a man with whom everything was outwardly fine, but inwardly felt as “something not right.”
Intuition allowed me to move to another city, although I had no idea how I would live there and develop. In general, there were all sorts of things.
Have you ever had to use your inner voice?
I always tell people whom I help to make their wishes come true: if you want something badly and cannot explain logically why it is so, then most likely you have listened to the sage inside you.

So, in my opinion, developing your intuition, understanding it, is a key part of the wish fulfillment process.
Follow your intuition. That’s where true wisdom comes into play.
What is intuition.
Before we get into the topic of how to develop intuition, let’s understand what intuition is.
Have you ever felt like something was going wrong, or have you felt like you should stop and go a different way in a certain situation? Maybe you’ve felt unsafe at certain times or felt anxious in certain situations?
This is your intuition.
The ability to trust your own intuition is great, but first you need to learn how to develop your intuition. When you can begin to use and trust your own intuition, you will find that you can listen to it and how it can help you in certain situations. Let’s look at what intuition is and how we should use it.
Intuition is a whisper, or sometimes a shout, that tells you to jump or stay still. It is your internal GPS system.
Your intuition is a combination of spirit, emotion and logic that guides you through life.
More often than not, we don’t listen to our intuition. We have too much chatter in our heads, very loud chatter that doesn’t allow us to hear our intuition. It’s doubts, worries, judgments, and fears.
Let’s say your intuition tells you that you like to dance, and it makes you dance or even sing. It tells you that you will be successful at dancing or singing. Or your intuition says, “I want love.” It says, “Let’s take a chance and write this book,” or “Let’s take a chance on starting this business.” You’re so enthusiastic about what your intuition is telling you!
But then a dialogue pops into your head. And it says, “What if I fail?”
You have to understand that the brain keeps us safe.
Your brain is designed to protect you! That’s it, it’s designed to warn you against the unknown, because it hasn’t experienced it yet and it tries to stay safe, that makes sense.
And your intuition is the spark of passion, it is the spark of desire and love. It is this spark that pulls you forward.
It’s important sometimes to turn off your mind and believe what your body and spirit are trying to tell you!
Let’s finally learn how to develop our intuition and the hidden abilities that will help us to fulfill our desires.
8 ways: how to develop your intuition
I have gathered for you exercises on how to develop intuition and hidden abilities. These are 8 great tips. If you start to apply them in your life, you will learn to hear and listen to your intuition.
1. look for the signs.
First of all, in order to be able to use your intuition, you must be able to recognize it when it speaks to you. Intuition isn’t usually loud or demanding – it’s subtle and communicates differently for different people.
For example, you may receive visual messages, such as images that appear in quick flashes or visions, or that unfold slowly, like a movie.
Your intuition may speak to you as a hunch or a fleeting thought.
Also, your intuition may speak to you in physical sensations, such as goosebumps, “butterflies in the stomach,” or feelings of relief.
Sometimes your intuition is just a deep sense of knowledge and certainty. If you have ever felt that you knew something true deep in your heart or soul, it was probably a message from your intuition.
Remember that the subconscious parts of your mind know things that are not necessarily available to your conscious mind, and believe that recurring signs may be trying to tell you something about what will make you happy.
Meditating by stopping your inner dialogue for 5-10 minutes a day can really help you clear your mind, which in turn helps you connect even more with your intuition. Meditation also helps you get into a clear and positive mindset.
When you meditate, you have thoughts and feelings that you might not normally pay attention to because there are many other things going on in your life that are distracting from your own thoughts. Pay attention to these thoughts and feelings through meditation or afterwards, and clear your mind of any worries. This will make it easier to hear and listen to your intuition.
3. Ask questions.
Gaining wisdom from your intuition should not be a passive experience. Ask specific questions of your intuition so that it will give you the exact answers to what you are looking for. The clearer you ask your questions to your innate wisdom, the clearer the answers will be.
How to ask the question is explained in the technique at the end of this article. With three pretty simple tips behind us, let’s get to the fourth tip on how to develop your intuition.
4. Write down answers.
Intuitive messages are subtle and can disappear from your conscious mind very quickly if you don’t apply measures to write them down. In fact, neuroscience research shows that intuitive ideas not captured within 37 seconds will likely never arise again.
5. Keep a journal.
This is a very effective way to start a conversation with your intuition and get its wisdom. I suggest that you regularly keep a journal for just five or ten minutes a day – you will be amazed at the results. You will see the changes and progress that happen to you.
6. Act quickly.
The universe rewards those who act immediately – and your intuition does the same.
When you respond with action to the information you receive from your inner source of wisdom, you open the channel between your subconscious mind and your conscious mind even wider and get more intuitive messages that are easier and easier for you to hear and begin to act correctly.
7. Trust Yourself.
The more faith you show in your intuition, the more results you will get.
If you want to make better decisions, solve problems faster, or create winning plans for your life, you will achieve your goals faster and more effectively when you tune into your intuition and listen to what your inner wisdom says.

8. Live in the present moment.
Focusing on the present will be the best thing you can do for yourself and your intuition. If you focus on things that happened in the past, you may pick up again feeling old pain and guilt. Worry can clog your mind and create negative thinking, as can worrying about your future and things you can’t identify.
Try to be fully present in the moment now, it will help you be in a happy, positive mood and help you develop your intuition. You can focus on your thoughts and feelings that you are experiencing right now and not worry about what you cannot change.

If you are depressed, you are living in the past. If you are anxious, you are living in the future. If you are at peace, you are living in the present.
How to Develop Intuition by the John Kehoe Method
In my list of top 100 books on the power of thought, the top five is the book “The Subconscious Can Do Anything!” John Kehoe. In it, the author provides a practical exercise that, once you read it and start applying it to your life, you will understand how to develop intuition and hidden abilities.
How to awaken intuition: 3 steps
Below are three steps that will help you naturally and effortlessly awaken your intuition and get answers to your questions:
Think for a few minutes that you do have a powerful subconscious mind, that there are absolutely right answers and solutions and that your subconscious mind will find them for you.
Try to move from being logically aware of these facts to being emotionally aware of them. When this happens, you will feel joyful excitement. The conscious mind should be constantly reminded of the existence of such a powerful helper as the subconscious mind.
You should feel reassured by realizing the power hidden within you.
Clearly state what you want from your subconscious mind: what answers, solutions and views on the problem you want to get from it. Repeat several times to yourself that at this very moment, your subconscious mind is working for you.
Don’t strain trying to imagine the possible answers. Talk to your subconscious mind confidently, constantly repeating what you want from it, but express it in words as if it is already doing it for you.
“Right now my subconscious is telling me…”
Repeat this to yourself at least ten times to feel that the process has begun.
Relax and fill your brain with confidence that the right answer will reveal itself to you. Remember that belief and certainty are not just feelings, but vibrations of energy.
These vibrations will attract the right solutions and answers like a magnet attracts metal.
The brain, in which the energy of certainty about the right answer fluctuates, will naturally find that answer.
Imagine what you will feel when you find the right answer: excitement, joy, relief. Feel it right now, but don’t strain too hard.
Don’t think day and night that your subconscious will soon tell you the right answer. Performing all three steps takes no more than five to ten minutes. It’s best to perform them every evening before going to bed. The transition from wakefulness to sleep is the most appropriate time to reach the subconscious mind.
It may take you quite a while to implement all the tips on how to develop intuition and hidden abilities in your life.
But it will be worth it.
Your personal intuition will become a magic wand; you will wonder how you moved through life without it. Intuition is not for the spiritually gifted, not for those who meditate all day, not for those who have a relaxed life. Intuition is a tool for all of us … now use it!

How to develop intuition: 7 effective ways
Like any other ability, our intuition is trainable and can be improved if desired. Here are a few techniques that will help develop your inner intuition and not to make mistakes in making important decisions.
Everyone has intuition – and there’s no mysticism about it. According to neurobiologists, it is formed on the basis of information that was once already received, but never reached the consciousness. Therefore, the sixth sense can be awakened with training and thus establish contact with yourself, and then apply this useful tool in everyday life.
You can train the sixth sense by developing your imagination. While the left hemisphere of our brain is responsible for logic and analysis, the right hemisphere is responsible for complex images, creativity and sensory perception. So the more often we “turn on” the right hemisphere, the better our intuition works. One of the most effective techniques is visualization.
Try to visualize natural landscapes:
- Get into a comfortable position;
- Close your eyes;
- imagine a place where you feel calm and safe (pictures should be colorful and detailed: if it’s a seashore, feel the splash of water and the touch of wind, listen to the sound of waves).
Such an exercise not only develops creative thinking, but also perfectly calms the nerves.
To develop your subconscious mind, you need to learn how to “shut off” the flow of thoughts. If your head is full of extra information or you’re stressed, your sixth sense becomes dull. Meditation helps you restore balance and hear your inner voice. It is possible to be engaged in it at any time and practically in any place. The main thing – to remain alone with yourself, to concentrate on process of breath and to stop the internal dialogue.
Feel how the air fills your lungs and leaves them. To feel the positive effect, it is enough to practice 10-12 minutes a day. It is scientifically proven that regular meditation practice slows down the aging of the brain, normalizes sleep, reduces anxiety and helps you better understand your desires. You can diversify the exercises, get detailed instructions on how to perform them and find the appropriate audio accompaniment in mobile applications.
Listen to your inner voice
Some people understand intuition as an inner voice that tells them the right decisions. For others, it is a sudden insight and various bodily reactions. Sometimes it manifests itself through twitching of the eyelid, tingling in some part of the body, rapid heartbeat, nausea. A person can get a high fever or, on the contrary, a shiver. Start paying more attention to your body and reading these signals. Unlike logic, intuition gives you the answer instantly and in a ready-made form. This peculiarity is explained by evolutionary development: for the sake of survival, the ancestors of modern man had to make decisions in fractions of a second. Start with a simple thing: before your next meal, try to figure out – are you really hungry? And if so, do you want to eat exactly what’s on your plate? If you make the right choice, you’re likely to feel pleasantly relieved and calm.
Practice the right way
Simple exercises can help you learn to understand and hear your inner voice. For example, when coming out of the house, try to guess the sex of the person whom you will meet first. And before picking up the phone, take as a rule in advance to determine who is calling you. Just don’t try to figure it out logically: the point of training is to learn to feel. Otherwise, the left hemisphere of the brain will “turn on” and prevent you from “hearing” the intuitive clue.
After a while, you will notice that the predictions began to come true more and more often. Or try to arrange a “day of intuition”. It is best if it will be a weekend. Spend it completely guided by your sixth sense. Another useful exercise: ask yourself simple questions and listen to what your inner voice tells you. The main thing – do not try to look for the answer yourself, let it come to you.
Use your subconscious mind
Our subconscious has such resources of the brain, which are inaccessible to the mind. In everyday life, it’s often the one that helps us make good decisions and directs our activities in the right direction. Use the unconscious to quickly find a way out of difficult situations. To do this, before going to sleep, lying in bed, relax and think about the problem that bothers you. Think about what ways you can fix it. So you give your unconscious the command to analyze and filter out the complex information stored in it. When you wake up, think again about what was troubling you. Carefully listen to your sensations: while your body was resting, your subconscious mind must have found for you the most creative solution to the problem. Write it down on paper, so that you will not forget it. This is yet another confirmation of the proverb: “wiser in the morning.
Keep a diary.
To better hear your inner voice, start an “intuition journal”. The most common paper notebook or notes on your smartphone are good for this. Fix there all the moments when your intuitive channel was triggered. Even if its signals were weak and imperceptible. For example, if you suddenly wanted to change your usual route or walk instead of taking the bus, even though it was raining outside – make a new record. Then you will be able to analyze this information and check whether the sixth sense worked.
And keeping a diary also allows you to determine your “favorite ways” of your intuition to interact with you. By the way, if you use your right hand in everyday life, try writing with your left hand sometimes. This way you will not only establish contact with the right hemisphere of the brain and make your sixth sense work more often, but also improve your creativity.
Focus on the Present
Performing habitual actions with your left hand is useful for another reason as well. Most of the time, our brain works in autopilot mode. We can walk to the office without thinking at all about the walking process or paying attention to people or the surrounding scenery. But just change the route or try to write with the other hand, and our thinking becomes active again.
To hear your intuition, it’s important to learn to be fully present in the present moment. Concentrate on the thoughts and feelings you are experiencing. If you are washing dishes, try to pay attention to the tactile sensations of your hands touching the surface of the dishes and the water. If you’re eating, feel it in your mouth, enjoying the taste and smell. Practice being present in the moment no matter what you are doing. This will help you be in touch with yourself and not miss the subtle signals of your intuition.
